BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 RMR Europe A: Overview & Highlights - Hellcase Blog

On April 6, BLAST.tv Paris Major Europe RMR A started. The tournament is taking place in Denmark, where 16 teams are competing. The top eight teams will advance to the BLAST.tv Paris Major and three more teams will get to the European RMR Decider. The matches will last until April 9.

Here, we will look at the matches and key moments of the Round 1 and Round 2 of BLAST.tv Paris Major European RMR A.

About the European RMR A

LAST.tv Paris 2023 RMREurope A is one of the four events of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 qualification. The tournament format is as follows:

  • 16 team Swiss System format
  • Elimination and advancement matches are Best-of-3
  • All other matches are Best-of-1
  • The 4th place decider is resolved via a Best-of-3 single-elimination match
  • Top 8 teams proceed to the BLAST.tv Paris Major
  • The next three teams proceed to the European RMR Decider
  • The bottom 5 teams are eliminated

Round 1

The teams played only one map each in Round 1. They chose to play on one of the seven maps that are currently available in the Active Duty map pool: Mirage, Overpass, Vertigo, Anubis, Inferno, Ancient, or Nuke. Each team could ban three maps, and play the remaining map.

Virtus.pro vs SAW

The teams played on Ancient. Virtus.pro won 11 rounds on defense, and SAW only won 4 on offense in the first half. In the second half, the Portugese team attempted a comeback, but in an intense fight the teams tied 5:5.

Virtus.pro won the map with a 16:9 score. Here is the highlight of the map .

MOUZ vs B8

The teams played on Ancient. In the first half of the map, MOUZ played as CT and won just 5 rounds. The second half of the map was intense for both teams. B8 lost a few rounds, but in the end they managed to take the lead and win.

fnatic vs Viperio

The teams played on Vertigo. There was an intense battle between these teams for victory. Both teams matched each other evenly and won 15 rounds each during the two halves of the match. After this, a series of overtime rounds started, in which fnatic won with a score of 7:5.

Natus Vincere vs Into the Breach

The teams played on Inferno. Like in the previous match, these two teams had a very intense game. Nobody wanted to give up, and the teams finished the two halves of the map with a score of 15:15. Finally, in the overtime rounds, NAVI emerged victorious with a score of 7:4.

NAVI won the map with a 22:19 score. Here is the highlight of the map .

Bad News Eagle vs 1WIN

The teams played on Mirage. 1WIN had a narrow lead of 8:7 in the first half. And in the second half, 1WIN easily secured the victory over the Kosovar line-up.

Sprout vs Falcons

The teams played on Ancient. Falcons started the game as CT and secured 10 rounds. Then the teams switched sides. The second half was close, but due to the previous lead point, Falcons won the game.

FaZe vs OG

The teams played on Ancient. FaZe won 8 rounds in the first half, which is a good result for the attacking side on this map. In the second half, they had a score of 8:7 and secured the victory.

Apeks vs GamerLegion

The teams played on Mirage. In the first half, Apeks managed to win 11 out of 15 rounds on defense. The second half was more even, but their previous lead in rounds proved decisive.

Now that we found out the outcomes of the first round of the European RMR A, let’s move on and see how things were going in Round 2.

Round 2. High Matches

Out of sixteen teams, eight winners advanced to this stage after securing victories in their Bo1 matches. After the High Matches of Round 2, only four teams proceeded further.

Virtus.pro vs B8

The teams played on Ancient. B8 had a series of successful attack on the T side in the first half, ending with a score of 9:6 in their favor. Despite a tougher second half, B8 managed to claim victory.

Natus Vincere vs Falcons

The teams played on Ancient. If the first half of the game could be called even, as the score was 9:6 in favor of NAVI, then the second half was just a failure for Falcons, as they lost lost it 0:7.

NAVI won the map with a 16:6 score. Here is the highlight of the map .

fnatic vs 1WIN

The teams played on Overpass. fnatic won the first half of the map 13:2. Although 1WIN did their best attempting a comeback, they couldn’t overcome Fnatic’s significant advantage and lost the map.

FaZe vs Apeks

The teams played on Overpass. FaZe started on the T-side and only won 6 rounds out of 15. However, FaZe’s defense in the second half of the map was much better, and Apeks couldn’t secure a win on this map.

Moving on to the Low Matches of Round 2 now.

Round 2. Low Matches

The loser’s bracket featured eight teams who lost their Bo1 matches in the previous Round 1.

Bad News Eagle vs Viperio

The teams played on Overpass. During the first half of the game, BNE played on the Terrorist side and won 9 intense rounds. After switching sides, the team successfully defended and did not give up the victory to the opponent.

Bad News Eagle won the map with a 16:9 score. Here is the highlight of the map .

MOUZ vs SAW

The teams played on Ancient. The first half was intense, with both teams exchanging rounds. The second half was even, but MOUZ had the advantage of defense and won.

MOUZ won the map with a 16:12 score. Here is the highlight of the map .

GamerLegion vs OG

The teams played on Ancient. The map was very unpredictable. While the first half was even with a score of 8:7 in favor of GamerLegion, in the second half, GamerLegion did not give their opponent a chance and won 8:2.

GamerLegion won the map with a 16:9 score. Here is the highlight of the map .

Sprout vs Into the Breach

The teams played on Vertigo. Into the Breach dominated the first half and won 12 out of 15 rounds, leaving no chance for Sprout. The second half saw a brief struggle, but Into the Breach still emerged victorious.

To Wrap Up!

Overall, we reviewed the first day of BLAST.tv Paris 2023 RMR Europe A, and while many of the results were obvious, there were some surprises. The tournament continues on April 7th, and we are particularly excited about it.
